S/TDC is a uniquely qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business with an outstanding history of contract performance! STDC Core Competencies.
We were founded in 1981 to support the development of technologies critical to the modernization of the U.S. Air Traffic Control (ATC) System, and have been serving the U.S. Department of Transportation and its prime contractors ever since. For over 20 years, we have helped our clients to reach their end-to-end, holistic, quality of service (QoS) goals, by providing safety and dependability design, development, automated stress testing and survivability assessment processes to almost every major FAA ATC program. See our Wealth of Experience!
S/TDC's tasks for DARPA have made major contributions to their Quality of Service (QoS) research advances. As Validation contractor for DARPA's multi-year Quorum middleware research program, S/TDC integrated and validated a broad spectrum of dynamic resource management research results, proving the feasibility of introducing "On Demand" dynamic management of system computing and communications resources into evolving, real time, mission critical systems. See Measuring & Managing the Quality of NetCentric "On Demand" Services
DARPA selected S/TDC in 2000 to independently assess the evolving survivability of Ultra*Log, a large-scale distributed agent system that had to be capable of operating effectively in a wartime environments involving high levels of system security, safety and dependability stresses. see 24 X 7 Automated Stress-injection based System Effectiveness Testing (ASSET)
Our participation in the Quorum and Ultra*Log programs has uniquely qualified S/TDC as a source of validation services for highly adaptive, On Demand, Grid Computing and Communications environments.
Following 9/11/01, S/TDC teamed with organizations with in-depth NSA based systems security expertise to initiate an Enterprise Vulnerability Management Initiative (EVMI). EVMI is focused on developing and implementing integrated, holistic processes for assessing and mitigating Enterprise security, safety and dependability risks.
The power of evolving EVMI processes and tools has led to the selection of members of the Alliance as key contributors to NSA's development of Information Assurance Guidelines for DoD's evolving Global Information Grid (GIG). We expect that EVMI tasks will also have significant impacts on related guidelines evolving from The Open Group Managed Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium.(NCOIC), where S/TDC is an active member and contributor to the Open Group.
In recognition of its technology advances, S/TDC was invited to locate its Headquarter in Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology Tower, adjacent to Dulles Airport. The Center also houses The Software Productivity Consortium.
